Description

The public authority (Istres Municipality) decided to build a new building, including offices, workshops and garage, for a total of 1000m².

Training

3 training sessions have been implemented
– May 13, 2019 : basic BIM training for the client, included the presentation of the interest for BIM use on site.
– May 14, 2019 : Training for the companies, 7 building companies and 14 attendees, managers and foremen, centred on the use of a viewers and the tools associated.
This training session has also been the place for the training for FORMATIC’s trainers, the selected training centre for the territory.
– October 3, 2019 : this second training session has been dedicated to practical manipulation of viewers and use of BCF notes to exchange between and with other stakeholders.

Main results

All companies understood how interesting the use of BM model for site implementation, but most of the companies’ managers considered it was too early for a large implementation of BIM on-site, probably because the companies’ management team lack confidence in the operators’ skills.
